Analysis
Purpose: The intended purpose for a digipak is to display not only the album artwork but to also show the track list of the artists titled songs.
What are the generic conventions?
Some of the generic conventions of the three different albums artwork are where they relate to the theme of the songs made within the album or album name. Another convention is where all digipak have to have the title of the album, track list, music institution and production company.
Analysis 1 - Frank Sinatra
Analysis 2 - Robbie Williams
Analysis 3 - Michael Buble
Common Conventions in digipak from my analysis:
- All have a colour code of black and white theme
- All similar costume such as all of them having wear suits (lazy)
- Always a close up or a medium close up of the artist
- All have a masculine colour
- Classic typography
What I will use from my analysis:
From doing this I will have my artist in a suit as well due to the theme I am going with, furthermore the colour scheme within the digipak will use quite dark and classic colours. Also following the use of capturing the images with it being in a close up and medium shot to show the artist star image towards the audience. Also with this I will have similar typography as I am going with the generic convention of the digipak.
Conclusion:
With the analysis of the two digipaks that we as a group has noticed some similar things that they have and we would include the type of artwork that is shown that it is based around the artist but also gives off some sort of feel towards the audience.
Some evidence of research and analysis into existing digipaks.
