Initial Ideas
Introduction:
Ideas:
My Ideas:
Artist: Mack Wilds
Song: Remember The Time
Video Structure: Performance and Narrative based.
Video Content: I will have a person in their room thinking about things back in his past, with someone when he is thinking of the memories for example: having coffee, playing in the arcade, watching TV, Playing ps3 etc. With this it will flick from the person performing and the memories, and the some of the memories will be linked with the lyrics.
Advantages:
- Simple to film as the lyrics give some ideas I would use in the video.
- Its quite a slow song but yet has some tempo as well, which could be great to film and edit as we can do a lot in the editing with it.
Disadvantage:
- Might be hard to lip sync.
- Trying to have good actors to act in the video.
Genre: R&B
Characters: Male (performer), female (actor)
MES:
- Location; Coffee shops, home, shopping, spending time together.
- Costume; Casual, high fashion, lazy etc.
Seans Idea:
Artist: PARTYNEXTDOOR ft Drake
Song: Recognise
Genre: PR&B (Alternative R&B)
Video Structure: The structure i would like in my music video to follow is Todorov's. His Theory includes a (start, middle, end) which would be idea for the video i am willing to create.
Video Content: The narrative will display the london night life featuring a group of friends enjoy partying, drinking, smoking and listening to great music. The entire video will be filmed in low-key lighting to connote the mysteriousness of the night. The video will highlight the trills london has to offer to those who are ready for it.
Characters: The characters that will feature in this video will be 3 guys and 3 girls initially. However, more characters will be included as the video progresses.
MES:
- Locations: a house which is where the party will situate.
- Iconography: Bottles of alcohol etc.
- Costume, Hair & Make Up: Characters will have a free choice to wear what they like. The idea clothes for this will be "party-outgoing attire" for both the guys and girls.
- Lighting: The lighting will be low-key throughout. This is because it will be needed for the style of the video i will be shooting. The tempo of the song would correspond best with a night time video and not a day time.
Editing: I will include a range of editing types throughout the video such as; slow paced editing, fade to black, straight cuts, jump cuts and many more. This will help to make the video very surreal and effective, drawing in the audience intended for.
Kloe's Idea:
Artist: Groove Armada
Song: Madder
Genre: Electronic Music
Video Structure: Performance and mainly narrative based.
Video Content: Party animal on his typical day out. Starts off with the character in his bed. Wakes up to his alam clock with two women either side of him. The first verse then becomes very descriptive so in theory we would follow the lyrics e.g. "read the bread while i toast my pay check", "Start jogging when i hit the pavement", "Cops say stop cause i aint caucasian". Chorus is very repetitive so we would have a seris of moving images from being drunk and another scene we could have him running from the police.
Advantages:
- The verse is very descriptive so it would be quite easy to get ideas on what to film.
- The genre is very unique and would look very professional if pulled off.
Disadvantages:
- The song is very long at 5 minutes and 22 seconds so we would have to edit the song which means more work.
- The song is quite fast so it would be hard to lip sync.
- The transitions would be fast too so we would need a lot of footage.
Characters: Main Male and some other features throughout the video goes along.
